In the local Okanagan language the name "Nk’Mip" translates as "bottomland" due to its location at the southern tip of the Osoyoos Indian Reserve. The winery specialises in premium red wines thanks to the arid desert-like conditions which help them to produce perfectly ripe grapes with plenty of intensity and balance. The winery’s "Qwam Qwmt'' range means "achieving excellence" in the local Okanagan language since the wines are crafted in small batches from 40 year old vines planted on the estate. Grapes for this stunning Pinot Noir are carefully selected from five specific blocks in Inkameep Vineyards in mid-October once they reach full ripeness. After fermentation the young wine is then aged in French oak barrels for 10 months. Elegant and perfectly-balanced, this Pinot Noir is bursting with toasted oak, ripe cherry and cinnamon and clove spice. The first sip reveals a medium body, fine tannins and silky smooth texture as well as a pure, clean finish with a bright streak of acidity. The bright red fruit character and sophistication makes this a great match for roasted duck, salmon or mushroom stroganoff.
