However, the company has long dated origins, in fact, the historic building dates back to 1933, and it was the first winery built after the end of Prohibition. The company is famous for its wines based on Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay and for the Profile Bordeaux blend. The Chardonnay grapes come from Block 2A of the historic Stanly Ranch vineyard located on the Napa side of the Carneros AVA. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in barrels to guarantee the full expression of the aromatic characteristics of this vine. The finished wine is aged for 18 months on the lees in French oak barrels (50% new). The result is a refined and captivating wine. Its color is bright with golden-yellow tones. On the nose, it is fragrant with aromas of ripe fruit, jasmine and orange blossom and hints of hazelnuts. On the palate, it is complex and well structured, unctuous and round. It maintains a marked acidity typical of Carneros wines. The finish is long and fresh. Perfect with turkey or aged cheese like Parmesan or Comté.
