Myasthenia gravis (MG) is an autoimmune disease affecting the neuromuscular junction, responsible for the production of autoantibodies against acetylcholine receptors in striated skeletal muscle. This is responsible for the appearance of fluctuating muscular fatigue which, when generalized, can be life-threatening.
